BURY hot-shot Andy Bishop's return from injury has partly overshadowed the performances of Nicky Adams - but the youngster's form is not lost on Shakers boss Chris Casper.

The 20-year-old midfielder is already being compared with former Gigg Lane stars David Nugent and Simon Whaley.

"He's certainly got the bit between his teeth this season," Casper said.

"He has a young family to support which means extra responsibility and that's showing on the pitch.

"He puts teams under pressure and has a good work ethic."

Casper is expected to name an unchanged squad for the visit of Grimsby.

Bishop, last season's leading scorer, has had an injection to ease tendonitis in his knee and is likely to feature at some stage.

"Bish wanted to have the injection and we wouldn't want to put a player under pressure," added Casper.

Last season: Bury 3 Grimsby 0

Key opponent: Ciaran Toner - Gifted midfielder will do damage if allowed

Prediction: Bury 1 Grimsby 0 - There shouldn't be much in it but home advantage could prove the difference
