Bolton Wanderers

Player ratings: Bolton Wanderers v Newcastle United

JAASKELAINEN: Great saves from Shearer and Bellamy gave him his first clean sheet for 10 games. 7

HUNT: The youngster again refused to be overawed by big-name opposition and got in two decent shots. 7

THOME: Bolton's defence held firm at last and the Brazilian was the lynchpin by subduing Shearer. 8

N GOTTY: Sound first half against Bellamy but then injury forced him out of the action. 7

CHARLTON: Some timely interceptions and clearances as well as provider for the goal. 7

STELIOS: He's really getting to grips with the Premiership now, quick, busy and good in the air for a little guy. 7

CAMPO: He experienced a few anxious moments with his distribution when switched to right-back following Hunt's exit. 5

OKOCHA: Subdued in the second half but became more influential as the game progressed. Hopefully an omen. 6

NOLAN: Busy, busy. Made some good interceptions but should have done better with a 26th minute chance. 6

DAVIES: Won a lot of ball when it was knocked up to him and worked his socks off but he does need a goal. 6

PEDERSEN: Honest 90 minutes work and one of the most crucial goals of Bolton's season. 7
