YOURI Djorkaeff was a massive hit when he accompanied manager Sam Allardyce, assistant Phil Brown and new Greek signing Stelios Giannakopoulos to the annual Malta football awards.

He is a big hero with Maltese fans from his days with Inter Milan, where he is still revered, and the Frenchman endeared himself further by speaking to the audience in Italian.

Meanwhile, Maltese side Floriana are looking to forge a player exchange agreement with Bolton.

Floriana president Dennis Burke said he had already been in touch with Bolton and the response was encouraging.

"Our objective is to have a number of our youngsters attending regular training camps at the Reebok Stadium," he said.

"Talks are at an early stage but Bolton's reply was not a negative one."
