BRUNO N'Gotty has gone Chinese in a bid to recover from a calf injury that has sidelined him for more than a month.

But Bolton's French defender hasn't been tucking into a tasty takeaway on the sly.

The former Marseilles star has been told to use oriental medicine to aid his recovery.

And manager Sam Allardyce hopes the new cure could see N'Gotty returning to his squad for Sunday's Premiership clash at Spurs.

Allardyce believes the treatment will solve nutritional problems highlighted as the reason for N'Gotty's slow recovery rate.

"Oriental medicine is an avenue of prevention and cure we are going down,'' said Allardyce. "I believe it's an important area to move into.''

Bolton even have their own doctor of Chinese medicine, Jon Brazie, to advise on the subject.

The return of N'Gotty for the trip to White Hart Lane would be a major boost for Wanderers, whose recent form has given Allardyce plenty of concern.

And it could be that injury prone utility star Paul Warhurst is also available following a groin problem.

Chris Armstrong would love to face his former club at White Hart Lane.

He aims to further his claims for a place in the squad when Bolton take on Leeds United in an FA Premier reserve league clash tonight (Wednesday).
