BOLTON continued to clear the decks on Monday by dumping four more players - but Sam Allardyce has indicated he hopes to make Japanese star Hidetoshi Nakata a permanent signing.
Veteran pair Jay Jay Okocha and Bruno N'Gotty will not be offered new deals after their contracts expire next month and now Bolton have announced that Khalilou Fadiga, Matt Jansen, Oscar Perez and Bedi Buval will all be released.
The Bolton boss says he is now hoping to bring in six new faces to the Reebok to press for the place in European football which evaded Wanderers on the final day of this season.
Top of the list is Nakata, who has failed to make a big impact during a season on loan from Italian club Fiorentina, while Ivan Campo is set to meet with Allardyce this week to discuss a new contract.
Allardyce says: "Although Hide has returned to Fiorentina following the end of his loan spell, we are hopeful of bringing him back on a permanent basis."
RICARDO Gardner was voted Bolton's Player of the Year, edging Kevin Nolan into second place and Greek star Stelios, who won the club's Golden Boot with 12 goals, into third. Young Player of the Year is Joey O'Brien and Best Newcomer is Abdoulaye Faye.
BOLTON's first pre-season friendly will be against Derby at Pride Park on July 29 (3pm).
