Bolton Wanderers

Swansea 3 Bolton 1

Nathan Dyer and Ricard Gardner in action
Ricardo Gardner was sent off as Bolton slumped to another defeat to stay rooted in the Premier League relegation zone.

Indeed, only Lancashire rivals Wigan are keeping Wanderers off bottom place.

The Jamaican international, preferred at left back to Paul Robinson, got his second yellow card just after half-time for tugging back Nathan Dyer.

Barely a minute later Swansea made the breakthrough when Joe Allen headed past Jussi Jaaskelainen.

And it got worse for Wanderers when Scott Sinclair doubled the home side's lead from the penalty spot.

Ex-Swan Darren Pratley was adjudged to have brought down Angel Rangel and Sinclair, boyfriend of Coronation Street actress, Helen Flanagan, did the rest.

Bolton threw themselves a lifeline when a shot from Chris Eagles was deflected into his own net by Danny Graham.

However, hopes of a famous comeback from the 10-men were dismissed in the third minute of stoppage time.

Graham, who had another effort cleared off the line by Robinson, beat the offside trap to score for a third successive match in injury time.

So, it's back to the drawing board for manager Owen Coyle's side after an encouraging midweek performance against Arsenal in the Carling Cup.

Their main priority is keeping 11 men on the pitch after losing Ivan Klasnic and David Wheater to red cards earlier in the campaign.

But these are worrying times for a side who have won only two of their opening 10 games.

What is your verdict on the action? Have your say.

Amongst his many shortcomings Coyle is failing to discipline his players. The club have now taken 9 points out of a possible 45 since the Stoke disaster. No manager anywhere would survive a record like that.Time to get rid.
