Bolton Wanderers 1 Crystal Palace 0

A SUPERB headed by Kevin Davies on the stroke of half time ended Bolton's run of four premiership games without a win at the Reebok.

His goal came as just reward for rising Bolton pressure which earned a string of free kicks.

The tenth of the first half conceded by Palace was lifted into the box by Bruno N'Gotty and, with the Palace defence stood in a line trying for offside Davies backed through to head a clever goal well wide of keeper Gabor Kiraly.

The first 30 minutes had been very scrappy as Bolton struggled to find a real pattern in their play after losing key midfielder Ivan Campo after a clash of heads in the 13th minute with his own captain Gary Speed.

Bolton dominated the second half and went close to increasing their lead with a stunning volley by Davies which flew just over the bar.

The Palace attack was generally well held with centre backs Bruno N'Gotty and Radhi Jaidi in dominant mood.
