Bolton close to Speed deal

Bolton hope to complete the signing of Gary Speed from Newcastle within the next 24 hours.

Wanderers are keen to agree a two-year deal for the 34-year-old Wales international, who holds the Premiership appearance record.

"I am hopeful that Gary will complete his move later today," Bolton manager Sam Allardyce told the club's official website www.bwfc.co.uk.
