Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba has written off City's chances of claiming a Champions League place.

But the former Arsenal youngster says Bolton aren't travelling to Spurs just to make up the numbers after avoiding relegation.

However, Muamba, a contender for Bolton's player of the year, admits: "Spurs have got the best chance to finish fourth for me.

"City have had a good season but I don't think they will finisher higher than Spurs.

"Aston Villa have worked their way back in recently and Liverpool are only a couple of points off.

"It's between those four teams. Tottenham have got City coming up after that so it might come down to who wins that game.

"We can affect it by getting something down there and we know it's going to be a tough but the manager won't let us rest on our laurels.

"We have to be mentally strong because it would be easy to switch off because we are safe from relegation.

"We are still playing to finish as high as we possibly can in the league - and Spurs are playing for something, too.

"But we will go there and do the best we can."

Manager Owen Coyle wouldn't prevent Gary Cahill leaving the club in the summer if Wanderers receive the right offer for the £15m defender.

Cahill has been linked with United, Liverpool and Arsenal but the club hasn't received any official offers.

"I have always said, regardless of what club I am at, that if there comes a time when any player outgrows the football club, I won't be the person to stand in their way," Coyle said.

"I said it to my Burnley lads when I was there - if there is something better for them out there, then they should go and blossom. That will be the same with Gary Cahill.

"I have got everything crossed that Gary gets to the World Cup because if he does he will be terrific.

"And if that means that he is elevated to a position where they are all going to clamour for him, then good luck for Gary Cahill."

Stuart Holden could make his return to action against Spurs
.
Holden has been out for two months after fracturing his fibula while on international duty with the United States, but targeted the trip to White Hart Lane for his comeback and having taken part in training this week, will undergo a late fitness test.

Ricardo Gardner remains a doubt with a leg injury, as do Andy O’Brien and Chris Basham as they continue their recovery from thigh and knee problems respectively.

Wanderers boss Owen Coyle will definitely be without long-term absentees Gavin McCann, Joey O’Brien and Sean Davis.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp could hand Aaron Lennon his first start of 2010.

Lennon, who has been troubled by a groin injury since December, has trained all week having suffered no repercussions from his substitute appearance against Manchester United last week.

Ledley King could feature in defence but Vedran Corluka (ankle), Jonathan Woodgate (groin) and Carlo Cudicini (wrist) are all out.
