Weiss eager for playing time at Bolton

Vladimir Weiss hopes his starring 30-minute cameo at Stoke last Saturday can earn him more game-time in Bolton's three remaining matches of the season.

The Slovakian international helped turn a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 victory that almost guarantees Premier League survival for Wanderers.

"Doing anything when you come on is always really hard, especially when you are losing," admitted the on-loan City winger.

"But I am happy that I came on and we managed to turn the game around.

"Someone has to create the goals. It was me this time but next time it will be somebody else.

"I'm just hoping that with three more games left, I can get a couple more starts or more minutes under my belt.

"I came to Bolton to play and it hasn't really been happening. I have been really frustrated.

"However, it's the Premier League - the hardest league in the world - and I know it will be tough to get in any team. But what I am thinking and hoping is that I will play a bit more."

Weiss, who has been on the Blues' books for nearly five years, is due back at Carrington at the end of the season.

"I don't know what's going to happen in the summer," admitted the 20-year-old prospect.

"At the moment, I know City want me back and I love playing for them, so I don't think I will come back here."

However, Weiss wants to finish with a flourish with Wanderers to ensure a trip to the World Cup this summer.

"I came here to Bolton to play so I could get in the Slovakian squad," he said.

"The season is nearly over and, as it is now, I have been criticised a little bit over in Slovakia. That's football and I understand that.

"I was in the team when we won the group. I think the manager (Weiss's father) will pick players who have been in the squad and I hope that will mean me.

"It's only football and there are many more important things in the world."

watching highlights did notice he wasnt joining in the goal celebrations,he looked a bit lost. maybe another half season loan,keep at it lad.

was he getting any play time under boltons old manager? that might off hindered his progress.

I hope that Vlad Weiss' time at Bolton (even though he hasn't had much game time) will have been great experience for him. He is undoubtedly a very talented young footballer. The only criticism really is that he is a bit on the "slight" side. He just needs to toughen up a bit and he will be top notch. Whilst at Bolton he should ask the rampaging bull (Davies) about how to bulk up a bit. Then send Vlad back to blue heaven and we should give him lots of chances to shine at City of Manchester next season.

Do not understand why m.e.n let turnips like cat stabber post as he is a loser.

Let vlad at spurs in a few weeks time and bolton will come away with at least a draw.

Feel Weiss has had a rough deal this season. He single handedly beat Barcelona for us in the pre-season game and then did the same for Bolton against Stoke. Not really been given a proper run out and feel it was a mistake to loan him out especially in view of the limited number of outings he's had at Bolton.

Sadly we currently have three of my favourites SWP ,Petrov and Bellers causing far too much trouble for my liking....they should be glad to be paid so much and they should be proud to wear our shirt but they feel differently.....so we will need Vlad as back up to Johnson and perhaps he like Johnson just needs game time....whenever I have seen Vlad he has been underwhelming ...if we lose those three I would love to see Ashley Young or De Maria come in.....

I for one I'm looking forward to seeing Vlad back here next season, hopefully inheriting the number 7 shirt from Clark Kent. He's probably not ready for week in, week out starts yet but with the talent he's got he'll be a very potent attacking threat and if he and Johnson continue to progress on a par with each other that could be some great wing play next year. Hope Bellamy stays but its obviously going to be a case of 'him or Mancini' for the off.

Younger players develop at different rates so although Weiss was excellent at Academy level he obviously isn't at a level that he can play regularly in the Prem yet. He's had very few opportunities at Bolton because Owen Coyle has been reluctant to play him - Coyle likes his teams to play football so if Vlad had been been ready to play from the off he would have had him in the team. He's obviously got to grow physically stronger and learn how to play in the Prem. Another year on loan somewhere won't do him any harm.
