Wanderers had hoped that the 30-year-old Frenchman, signed from Lyons to replace Gudni Bergsson, would manage a game late last season, but there was a hitch in his recovery.
Laville has joined the rest of the squad pre-season training camp in Italy, and manager Sam Allardyce said: "He's got a clean bill of health."
Laville, signed on a two-year contract last summer after a loan spell at the Reebok, was injured in the fifth game of the season at home to Middlesbrough on September 26, and returned home for his second cruciate operation.
He made his comeback in a 2-2 home draw against Liverpool reserves at the end of April.
Laville will give Allardyce choice at the heart of his defence along with Bruno N'Gotty and Tunisian Radhi Jaidi, whose signing is expected to go through shortly. It would also signal the expected exit of Emerson Thome, whose new contract demands are too much.
Bolton are being linked with veteran striker Les Ferdinand, who may make a shock move to The Reebok instead of Millwall.
