Bolton have confirmed that they are interested in securing the services of Portugal defender Nuno Valente.

The 29-year-old Porto player is currently preparing for the Euro 2004 semi-final against Holland.

A Bolton spokesperson said: "Nuno is on the list of players we have targeted but we haven't made a bid."
