Wanderers remain just five points above the drop zone and have lost their last three games.
They've also twice been thumped 4-0 by the Londoners this season.
But Robinson doesn't expect Owen Coyle's side to hand the FA Cup finalists an easy victory.
"It will be a good game," he smiles. "You never know, we might nick a 1-0.
"Seriously, you have got to go there optimistic. You can't go into these games feeling afraid or you set yourself up for a hiding.
"We have got to go there, be positive, take the game to Chelsea and get in their faces.
"They will be thinking it's an easy game but we will go there and show them it's not."
Bolton haven't scored in their last three games but Robinson adds: "We are creating enough chances but they are not going in the back of the net.
"However, I know they will come. So, we have to be positive and not worry about the last three results."
Despite United's recent setbacks, Robinson believes the Reds can retain their Premier League crown.
"Chelsea may have nudged in front but I wouldn't discount United," adds Robinson.
BOLTON have been linked with a £3m summer swoop for Burnley striker Steven Fletcher.
