Wanderers' boss Gary Megson said last month he'd ended a chase for the Sporting Lisbon star, who first impressed when the sides met in the UEFA Cup.
Sporting's demands for £17m remain the stumbling block.
However, Veloso's agent Paulos Barbosa claims: "We are waiting. There are talks with different clubs that are on- going at the moment.
"Bolton, Manchester City and Arsenal are all still interested," he said.
The Wanderers chief believes Gary Cahill and Kevin Davies should be available to face Hibernian in Jussi Jaaskelainen's testimonial on Saturday.
Davies missed Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Hearts after the birth of his new baby.
England defender Cahill was taken ill in Edinburgh and allowed home. Midfielder Gavin McCann, whose place looks under threat from Sean Davis' arrival, is doubtful with a hamstring injury.
Hibs keeper Yves Ma-Kalambay feels the SPL side will be in for a tough afternoon.
"We know we cannot battle with the likes of Bolton," he says. "Passing the ball will be our best option."

Off topic: Caceido came on in the 2nd game, about 20 minutes from time. Not changed much, as expected after being with Sporting for a fortnight. He at least ended on the luckiest side.

Hughes has absolutely no interest in this player and should just release a formal statement. Sick of being linked to average players.
Hughes is clearly buying players with experience in England and has shown he will not veer from that policy this transfer window. And even if he was i think its laughable to think he would do it for a player who has been trying to move from Sporting for 3 transfer windows and has had no takers.
Lets burst this Barbosa's bubble......

Iv read somewhere this morning that Lescott could be unvailed at the Open House thing at COMS this afternoon (see Below) anyone else know anything?
Manchester City chiefs are convinced they have found a breakthrough in the stand-off for Everton defender Joleon Lescott.
The Sun says the England defender could even be unveiled to fans at City's Eastlands open day this afternoon.
Mark Hughes has trailed Lescott, 26, since January with Goodison chief David Moyes insisting the player was not for sale.
But Everton have reluctantly accepted City's bid of around £22million with add-ons taking the final fee even higher.
Lescott, who cost £5m from Wolves in 2006, will double his wages to £90,000 a week when he signs a five-year deal.

'Championship bound' BOLTON are still in a tug of war with 'moneybags' City for Portuguese ace Miguel Veloso
'Thinly disguised united rag' MEN should use it on all their articles. I think 'Closet Red' Trevor Baxter is definitely on to something here.

There were - but now they've left home and have ducklings of their own. Will be taking my grandson to his first match as soon as I can stop him running on the pitch!

Get used to it Ed. When you start winning things it will get worse, a lot worse. The fact is you are the new moneybags and if were you I wouldn't care what other people say.
Enjoy the ride and ignore the cynics. We've had to put up with this at United for years. They'll blame you for global warming if they can. They're just envious, forget them.

'City in tug of war with Bolton' you have got to be joking (even without our riches)
steve wilson (06/08/2009 at 15:11)
you complain on the one hand about being called "moneybags"
but all you have ever done recently is tell utd fans how much money you have and
how you can afford anyone!
"MUPPETS" does not come close to describing you!

I'm glad you think we're going to start winning things. Don't see how it can be worse than not winning things though! Are you sure you're not a blue?
