Wanderers' exciting Under-18s are through to the quarter finals of the FA Youth Cup against Liverpool next week - and Academy manager Peter Farrell is convinced the future of the club is in safe hands.
The versatile Basham and striker Obadeyi have already broken into Megson's first team at the Reebok and Farrell insists there is plenty more where they came from.
"Young lads have to take their chances when they're offered," he said. "And that's what Chris and Tope have done.
"Chris has got the physical side to his game, which is down to attitude and hard work. He also has technical ability because he's good on the ball.
"He still has a long way to go in the game, but he has proved a point to everyone."
On Obadeyi, Farrell added: "People are always looking to knock young players and a few outside the club have looked at Tope and wondered whether he is good enough.
"But he has got pace and power and he scares defenders. He is another with and excellent attitude and I'm sure he can push on."
Wanderers face Liverpool at Anfield on February 27 for a place in the semi-finals of Youth Cup. City host Norwich on March 7.
Meanwhile, unsettledĀ defender Danny Shittu could go on loan to Birmingham for the rest of the season.
The Nigerian international wants regular first team football but his chances have been limited at the Reebok.
