BOLTON midfielder Matty Taylor wants a return to winning ways starting against his former club on Saturday.

Wanderers entertain Portsmouth having lost their last two games against Chelsea and Aston Villa.

And Taylor (pictured) is well aware that a couple of results either way will have a big bearing on Premier League standings this season.

"We are now over a third of the way through the season and we've played the majority of the teams in this league," says Taylor, a £4m signing from Fratton Park last January.

"Other than the top four, there aren't too many that are better than us, so we've got a good chance this season to achieve something.

"We would all like to be further up the league," agrees Taylor who has been talked of as possible England material this season.

"But with the way that the table is looking at the moment, it's almost a replica of the Championship in terms of how close it is."
