Wanderers' record signing has scored three goals in his last two games to take his season's tally to four.
It has also ended a nightmare spell in front of goal when he failed to find the back of the net in eight matches.
Now he is just delighted to start repaying Wanderers' £10m investment.
"I know it's difficult to score in the Premier League," said the Swedish international. "I was having some problems with my hamstring but now I'm feeling 100 percent fit.
"When you are feeling fit you can obviously perform that bit better on the pitch.
"It takes time. The Premier League is the best league in the world. You can't come from the French League and think that you can score three goals in the first game."
Pressure
Despite getting the perfect start to his Bolton career with a goal on his debut against Stoke, Elmander came under increased pressure as he failed to add to his account.
Manager Gary Megson always maintained he had faith in a striker he convinced the Wanderers board to break the club's transfer record for.
But as the games without a goal continued to tally, there were real fears the former Toulouse man would turn out to be another big money flop. "I understand that when you arrive for a lot of money that people expect you to score goals and that is fair enough," said Elmander.
"I knew that if I kept on fighting then the goals would come and now they are coming."
The 27-year-old will be hoping to continue his scoring run against Chelsea on Saturday.
But far from revelling in his hot streak, he is still kicking himself for an early miss against Sunderland that cost him his first Premier League hat-trick.
"I hit the ball the ball a little too well and if I'd connected a little bit different then it would have gone in," he said.
Meanwhile Nicky Hunt could have played the final game of his loan spell at Birmingham.
The right back was due to return to the Reebok after this weekend's game against Watford. But he suffered a hamstring injury during last weekend's draw with Wolves which could see him return early.
With little chance of breaking into the Bolton first team, Hunt could be granted another loan.
