Bolton Wanderers

Bolton v Everton: Player ratings

PLAYER ratings from Everton's visit to the Reebok Stadium.

Jaaskelainen - one crucial stop from Joseph Yobo in the first half and another to deny Johnson. But his hesitancy cost Bolton the corner from which Everton netted their winner - 6

Hunt - a third successive booking leaves the right back facing an early season suspension. Injured late on - 6

Meite -a poor piece of control almost cost Bolton a second goal. Just about finished honours even with Johnson - 6

Cid - his inexperience at this level continues to show, highlighted by his lunge for the ball that eventually cost Bolton the opening goal - 5

Samuel - quietly effective as he has been for most of the season. But doesn’t get forward as much as he possibly should - 6

Alonso - could have ended up with a hat-trick. Struck the bar and twice foiled by excellent saves from ex United goalie Tim Howard - 7

Speed - has to resist the temptation to get forward for fear of leaving Wanderers exposed at the back - 6

Nolan - linked with Everton before transfer window closed and should have punished his fellow Merseysiders. Shocking second half miss from Anelka’s cross - 5

McCann - just having more of an influence on the game when seemingly injured and substituted by Wilhelmsson - 6

Anelka - a stunning volley from the Frenchman to show why Bolton and so many other Premiership and European sides value him so highly. Four in five now for Wanderers’ record signing - 8

Diouf -another all action display from the Senegal striker. It was his cross that led to Bolton’s equaliser. Another player manager Lee is glad has stayed - 7
