WALSHAW professional Jonathan Fielding turned on the magic with a sensational spell of six wickets for NO runs in the Anthony Axford Bolton Association.

Spinner Fielding, formerly on Lancashire's books, sent sorry Edgworth plunging from 68-2 to 70 all out.

He finished with stunning figures of 8-13 to reinforce his position as the Association's top wicket taker, with a season's analysis of 30 for 209.

Even then he wasn't finished as he followed up with 32 as Walshaw reached 71-3 to go 10 points clear at the top. Atherton eased through with an 83-run win over Lostock while the Griffiths family starred in Clifton's 121-run beating of Astley & Tyldesley.

Dad Geoff scored 90 in their 224-4 declared (David Hamilton 87) and then son Andrew had 4-41 as A&T fell for 103.

Elton pro Dexter Fitton scored 51 out of 218-6 at Adlington where they won by 50 runs. Chris Rudd's 105 led Spring View to a 123-run success over Edgworth, pro Arindam Sarker adding 58.

Atherton will be at home to Clifton in the semi-final of the Cross Cup on June 29 with Elton, last year's beaten finalists, receiving Spring View in the other tie.
