England suffer double misery

ENGLAND seamer Matthew Hoggard conveyed his team's disappointment after documents detailing their bowling plans for Australia were leaked to the media.

The tourists endured a long second day in the field in the fourth Test in Melbourne and their misery was compounded when their bowling plans were read out on the radio.

England believe the plans must have been taken from their dressing room at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Hoggard told Sky Sports: "It is disappointing. It is a personal thing, it is a private room.

"In international cricket we thought we had good security and it is unfortunate it has been leaked."

Former England captain Mike Gatting believes too much is being made of the leaked plans.

He told BBC Radio Five Live: "It is nice to have plans in case you need to refresh your memory, but bowlers know what they have to do. They go through it in their minds.

Faults

"It should not affect them at all. All the time you are trying to correct faults. You know your weaknesses and play to your strengths.

"It`s all in the brain. People are making too much of it."

England legend Geoff Boycott said: "If you need a list to get Shane Warne out something is wrong with your bowlers."

Things did not go according to plan on the field, as Australia racked up 372 for seven, a lead of 213, with Matthew Hayden and Andrew Symonds both hitting centuries.

Hoggard thought England had been unlucky on a number of occasions when umpiring decisions had not gone in their favour.

He said: "We bowled quite well this morning. We had a lot of close decisions not go our way. On another day we might have got them and it would be a different story.

"We bowled well this morning but Hayden and Roy (Symonds) played really well. It was a good pitch to bat on, it was a little bit flat, the ball got softer, they got their eye in and we got tired."

What is your verdict on the news? Have your say.

I don't know what "plans" your mob are talking about.
Is it the one on how to LOSE the ASHES.
We have no use for that.
Let me say, what a woeful cricket team you have.
I cannot believe one player can practically win the Ashes in 2005, with his reverse swing, and then lose it so quickly as "captain".
That player is Andrew Flintoff, or should that be FLIPoff.
His field placings are DREADFUL.
He has one field setting for each Aussie and if they don't work TOO BAD.
What the ECB, seriously needs to do, is cut by half, the amount of County teams.
Shorten, the domestic program.
Either you don't have the talent, or your players, are playing too much bloody cricket.
We don't mind, if you ask us for help, by approaching Rod Marsh or Troy Cooley, but for heavens sake, whatever they teach you.FOLLOW IT!!!!!!
I understand Sri Lanka, are presently in New Zealand.
I seriously believe, our Kiwi cousins, should on our behalf, ask them, if they'd like to compete in the upcoming Commonwealth Bank One Day Cup, in place of your WOEFUL mob.
Andrew 'Roy' Symonds could have been one of yours, but like our Sunday Newspaper had on their headline, when you actually managed to win the Webb Ellis Trophy, "READ IT AND WEEP".
Ashes-Australia 5-0
One Day Cup Finals- Australia vs New Zealand.
England WINLESS
Us Aussies and our Kiwi Brothers reaction- PRICELESS.
One more thing, DENNIS LILLEE is looking for a JOB.

Bowling plans what bowling plans from the very first ball in the first test our bowling in all but one session in the third test has been abysmal. As much as it goes against the grain i agree with the gloating aussie who says we should be replaced for the one day series his view is were not good enough and who am i to disagree.
