Freddie gives Charlie the boot

MOVE over Charlie Hodgson another local England hero is snapping at your heels!

England cricket captain Andy Flintoff dropped in on Sale Sharks fly-half Hodgson to see if his rugby union kicking skills were up to scratch.

Lancashire all-rounder Flintoff put his kicking boots on as part of a feature for tomorrow morning's Cricket AM show on Sky Sports.

Flintoff has already tried his hand at boxing with Hyde's WBA welterweight champion Ricky Hatton for the show and has played darts with world title holder Phil `The Power' Taylor.

And Freddie soon discovered that Hodgson is no mean cricketer - and has now offered the Sale fly-half the chance to go into the nets with England.

Sale spokesman Dave Swanton said: "We played a charity cricket game and Charlie opened the batting, the bowling and had a spell behind the stumps too!"
