WE are going great guns and it is a joy to play cricket at the moment.
I am particularly enjoying myself, coming in at No 5 now behind Brad Hodge.
With Mal Loye and Mark Chilton in such good form at the moment, and Brad breaking bowling attacks, the pressure has been off me when I have come in and that is always a great help.
Brad is a class player, and has hit the ground running for us since he arrived from Oz.
Shame
It is such a shame that he will be leaving us soon to play for Australia A.
He shouldn't really be playing for the A team, that is for up-and-coming young players.
Brad is past that stage now and shouldn't be having to prove himself at that level.
But Australia have flexed their muscles and he can't afford to upset them. He has done nothing wrong and still finds himself out of the Test squad.
He may never play for Australia again, but he certainly won't if he annoys somebody there by deciding not to play for the A team.
We are in a catch-22 situation over whether to replace him. We shouldn't bring another overseas player in just for the sake of it, we would have to replace quality with quality.
But if the lads continue to do the business like we have been doing, we don't want to bring somebody in who may upset the balance of the side. It's a good dilemma to have, however.
What do you think? Have your say.
