FARNWORTH will be hit by derby fever when the Hamer Cup, the Warburtons Bolton League's prestigious knockout competition, gets underway on Sunday.

The town's two clubs clash, with Social Circle hosting the game at Piggott Park, and they are among 12 teams starting out on the road which they hope will lead to the final on August 7.

Westhoughton won the Cup in 2004 and start their defence with a home tie against Tonge. Greenmount, beaten by three wickets in last year's final, go to Egerton.
