FAISAL Alfredi had club and league officials scurrying to check the record books after an amazing blitz in the Anthony Axford Bolton Association.

The Pakistani professional blasted 103 off 38 balls against Atherton, with 11 sixes.

Four of them came in a single over from Yogesh Galwalkar, with the other two balls going for a four and a two - 30 in total.

Alfredi's blast was estimated to have lasted 45 minutes. The league's quickest century before that was by another Daisy Hill professional, Ikram Elahi, in 48 minutes.

Cricket secretary Brian Gleave said: "A lot of people were in the club watching the FA Cup final, but they soon came outside when they heard what was going on. It was astonishing."

The one-man demolition job counted for nothing, with Atherton 13-1 in reply to 178-7 before being stopped by the rain - which also curtailed all the other Association games. Tweet
