The only reason attendance figures for weekend Championship games seem poor is that it is usually the fourth day which is played on a Saturday when the game can either be heading for a certain draw or be virtually over.
It is ridiculous that games are played either Tuesday to Friday or Wednesday to Saturday and weekends are largely cricket-free.
