The all-rounder only bowled two overs on Sunday as Oxford University replied to Lancashire’s first day 369 with 244 all out.
Hogg will take no further part in the game, and Red Rose coach Peter Moores said: “Whether that keeps him out of Friday, we’re not quite sure. It does create a doubt, though.”
Sajid Mahmood and Oliver Newby took four wickets each as Oxford’s Ed Young hit a superb 133. Mark Chilton had scored 117 on the first day for Lancs, who reached 22-0 after six overs of their second innings going into today’s final day.
