Local cricket: Lancashire County League

THREE clubs will start the final day of the Lancashire County League season tomorrow with a chance of winning the crown.

Leaders Prestwich are guaranteed the title if they take four or more points from their meeting with third-placed Dukinfield.

The Heys club are a point clear of Denton St Lawrence in second. A maximum five-point haul would put them out of reach.

If DSL claim five points against Woodhouses (fourth) and Prestwich claim four, the title will go to Prestwich by virtue of their superior results against DSL over the course of the season.

If Dukinfield beat Prestwich and claim all five points and DSL can only manage four points, the title will be Dukinfield's by virtue of most outright wins.

Tomorrow: Denton v Cheetham Hill, Flowery Field v Irlam, Glossop v Roe Green, Longsight v Denton West, Prestwich v Dukinfield, Thornham v Woodbank, Woodhouses v Denton St Lawrence.
