ELTON extended their lead at the top of the Bolton Association table to 30 points with victories over Clifton and Adlington.
The Leigh Lane club limited Clifton to 179-7 on Saturday, Andrew Griffiths scoring 50, before racing to 180-2. And yesterday they restricted Adlington to 159-9 before notching up 160-3, Chris Read unbeaten on 60.
Darcy Lever moved into second with wins against Adlington and Walshaw. Jordan Thornley scored 78 and Davendra Bundela hit an unbeaten 64 as Lever notched up 233-6, before bowling Adlington out for 160. Professional Bundela also starred with the ball taking 6-56. And he was on form again yesterday, smashing 102 not out as Lever rattled up 170-9, before taking 6-55 as Walshaw were bowled out for 127.
Atherton slipped to third after losing at Spring View. Neil Bannister smashed a splendid 91 not out as Atherton scored 179-4, but it was not to prove enough as Rob Turnbull's unbeaten 69 helped steer View to 181-3 and a seven-wicket win.
However, they were in better form against Daisy Hill yesterday. Howard Brooks scored 64 as Hill were bowled out for 198, Atherton scoring 3-6 in reply with Phillip West blasting a brilliant 110. Lostock are still without a win after losing against Blackrod. The bottom side managed just 130-7, before Craig Smith's 59 not out guided Blackrod to 133-1 and a nine-wicket win.
