WEEKEND action from the Liverpool Competition and the first round of the National Club Championship.

New Wigan skipper Sean Casham could hardly have had a better weekend.

He led his side to a 67-run win at Caldy on Saturday in the Littlewoods Gaming Liverpool Competition division one, and yesterday powered his way to a superb century at New Brighton to see his side home in the first round of the Cockspur Cup National Club Championship.

New pro Mike Parlane scored 88 of Wigan's 201 at Caldy, while Dave Cunliffe claimed 4-29.

Wigan made 246-7 at New Brighton, Sean scoring 108 and brother Steven 41, as did Mark Shorrocks.

Off spinner Cunliffe claimed 4-12 off seven overs, as New Brighton managed only 164-9, Lancashire CDO, Paul Bryson 49. Wigan now visit Bowdon.
