ECB quiet over KP bust-up

THE England and Wales Cricket Board have refused to comment on reports of a rift between captain Kevin Pietersen and coach Peter Moores.

It has been claimed the pair clashed over the decision not to recall former skipper Michael Vaughan for next month's tour of the West Indies.

Pietersen is thought to have wanted Vaughan alongside him in the Caribbean but selectors opted to keep faith with Ian Bell and Owais Shah.

An ECB spokesman said: “We don't comment on speculation.”

It was also claimed Pietersen had demanded showdown talks with ECB officials over the matter, but no such meeting is due to take place.

Recalling Vaughan would have proved a controversial move given the Yorkshire batsman's poor form towards the end of last season.

Vaughan returned to his county after resigning as England captain last August and said he wasn't available for the tour of India.

He remains centrally contracted but has not played any competitive cricket since the end of the season and has no form to back up his case for a return. He also turned down the chance to go on the Lions tour to New Zealand next month.

This has been coming for a while and its going to end with the teddy being thrown.
Peter Moores relies heavily on statistics, youve got to go at less than 2.5 an over in County cricket for a while to be considered as a pace bowler. No longer are there horses for courses. Pieterson knows Vaughan would come good against a lack lustre West Indies attack and then be ready for the Ashes. In the back of his mind he is worried about Bell and he wants those who he can rely on around him.
This is all because KP builds up his team mates into something they arent, I am sure Michael Vaughan doesnt need all this hassle.
It's akin to Stuart Law's comments when Cork was released, deep down Pieterson knows the right choice has been made.
