I AM my own biggest critic and being dropped for this week's Championship match against Hampshire isn't a problem for me because I know I am not in form.

I am obviously disappointed but some players moan and groan about being left out and I can't deal with those sorts of people.

There is a reason why you are dropped and you just have to get on with it and deal with the problem. It is probably the worst run of form I have had in my career although in 1999 I did have a run of three pairs which is right up there.

I have discovered a technical problem in my game which I will spend the week working on in the nets and I am actually quite excited about being able to sort out the problem.

I am seeing the ball really well but I am moving far too much at the crease.

It will be a test of character for me to get through this and get back in the side but I know that once I get back to form I will be able to score runs heavily again. And, hopefully, that will start next week against Bangladesh A at Alderley Edge.

I am pleased for my good mate Iain Sutcliffe. He has worked hard and fully deserves his chance in the first team.
