The side for the one-day friendly at Liverpool would normally be full of second-team players. But the constant downpours have played havoc with Lancashire's fixtures leaving several first team regulars short of match practice.
Sajid Mahmood, who returned to first team action in Wednesday's dramatic NatWest Pro 40 win over Northamptonshire, will continue his comeback following a double hernia operation.
Andrew Flintoff will play as a batsman only having seen his comeback - a three-day second team game against Derbyshire at Blackpool - washed out without a ball being bowled.
And after seeing the County Championship Roses clash at Old Trafford reduced to two days, and last week's match at Worcesteshire abandoned on day one, with New Road flooded, cricket manager Mike Watkinson is keen for his players to get some overs under their belts ahead of next week's crucial four-day game with champions Sussex at Liverpool.
Captain Mark Chilton is also desperate for some time out in the middle. He missed Wednesday's win, which took Lancashire to the top of the Pro40 Division One, with bronchitis and faces a race against time to be fit for Sunday.
Doubtful
Mal Loye is also doutbful after a recurrence of his back spasm forced him to miss the game with Northants.
Meanwhile, Lancashire's abandoned match against Worcestershire will not be replayed after the ECB made a U-turn and ruled the New Road side's game with Kent will not be rescheduled.
The ECB had originally decided Worcestershire and Kent would play again on Monday after their game was abandoned earlier this month following floods at New Road. However, they have now changed their minds after appeals from several counties, including Lancashire.
And Lancashire were one of four clubs to also oppose an alternative plan to award Kent nine points - their average haul from away games this season - and Worcestershire four.
So both Kent and Lancashire will be given four points for their washouts with Worcestershire.
An ECB statement said: "While the Board has great sympathy for Kent, it is recognised that the rescheduling of the match could lead to an inadvertent benefit to Worcestershire.
"The option of awarding points to Kent would require unanimity from counties in Division 1 which was not forthcoming.
"The Board has therefore determined the only option left is that the match be abandoned and Worcestershire and Kent shall each gain four points from the abandoned match."
Lancashire will now play their away Pro40 fixture with Worcestershire on August 25 at Taunton.
