Boxing: Choi goes close

OLDHAM'S adopted Mongolian son Choi Tseveenpurev finally got his big boxing break at the weekend - and lost a close decision to former IBF super-bantamweight champion Lehlo Ledwaba.

Choi faced the South African in Copenhagen, where he has been sparring Johnny Bredahl, who defended his WBA bantamweight title on the same bill.

Choi was awarded a 76-76 draw by one of the three judges in the eight-round featherweight contest, but the other two awarded it 77-76 and 77-75 to Ledwaba.
