The Chorley welterweight has not been in the ring since he lost his British title on a split decision to Young Muttley in January, but he will face up to big-hitting Takaloo for the World Boxing Union's belt.
The fight is scheduled to take place on the undercard of Sheffield hero Clinton Woods' defence of his IBF light-heavyweight title against Jamaican ace Glen Johnson - the third time the two men will have met.
The show will also feature Amir Khan back in front of his home-town fans for the first time since his professional debut a year ago.
Jennings' title shot will be a big boost to the stylish boxer from Brian Hughes' Collyhurst and Moston gym, as he was originally scheduled to face Colin McNeil in a British title eliminator.
Instead he gets in the ring with the unpredictable Takaloo, from Margate but of Iranian stock - a man who blasted out Manchester's Anthony Farnell inside a round in 2001, and was himself dynamited by Wayne Alexander in 2004.
The same show will also see Ricky Hatton's old WBA light-welterweight title up for grabs, with Frank Warren's French fighter Soulemayne M'bayi taking on Argentinian Raul Balbi.
Hatton gave up the title after winning it against Carlos Maussa in November. Tweet
