Tyson retired on his stool at the end of the sixth round at the MCI Center after a desperate performance against the 32-year-old, who was ranked 154th in the world.
"I'm not going to fight again," Tyson said after the bout.
.
The former world champion says he does not have the "fighting guts" to continue.
Tyson said: "I don't have it any more. I've got the ability to stay in shape but I don't have the fighting guts any more. I realised that early in the fight. I'm sorry I let everybody down. I just don't have it in my heart anymore."
McBride, said: "He's a warrior and I respect him" The 38-year-old Tyson, who lost his last fight against Briton Danny Williams last July, had been docked points in the sixth round for what appeared to be an intentional headbutt as the fight slipped from his grasp.
And when trainer Jeff Fenech signalled to referee Joe Cortez Tyson had had enough, McBride's corner leapt to their feet in celebration. Tweet

Why would anyone be suprised that Tyson would just "give up"? He is mentally and emotionally unstable at best. The worst part about it...people actually paid money to witness this farce. He should have never been allowed to return to professional boxing. Score another big punch on professional boxing, in particular the heavy weight division a sport already reeling from controversy after controversy. Another example of when promoters run the show and money and hype is all that is important.
It's good to see the convicted rapist finally fall. He was a thug and disappointing human being who, in my opinion, never deserved the praise and respect the public was always willing to give him.
Go now, Mr. Tyson, back to the life from whence you came.
