BOLTON student Amir Khan will be the only British boxer in this summer's Athens Olympics.

No other home nation's fighter made the grade at the final qualifying tournament in Azerbaijan.

London light-flyweight Darran Langley and Liverpool welterweight Neil Perkins came closest but both lost in the semi finals. Only the finalists qualified.

Lightweight Khan, 17, who trains at Bury ABC, booked his Athens place by winning a tournament in Bulgaria last month.

The Republic of Ireland will also have one boxing representative, Limerick middleweight Andy Lee, 19, who qualified at the European championships in Croatia in February.
