The British Boxing Board of Control have demanded a rematch after Fury's controversial points win earlier this month.
British boxing's governing body stopped short of ruling the fight a no-contest - but have acted quickly in response to the furore that has surrounded the original clash.
Promoter Frank Maloney, branded referee Terry O'Connor a disgrace after he awarded Fury victory, while there have been overwhelming calls for a rematch.
Fury immediately promised to take McDermott on for a second time, but the decision has now been taken out of his hands. His trainer, Steve Egan, insists his fighter will be out to prove a point when they next meet up.
"He will win by knockout next time," said Egan. "McDermott can't do any better than he did last time.
"Tyson will definitely do a number on him."
Meanwhile, world title challenger, David Haye, is ready to solve Fury's sparring problems.
Haye, who takes on 7ft Russian Nikolay Valuev for the WBA heavyweight title in November, sees Fury as the perfect preparation for that clash.
Fury has struggled to find sparring partners due to his mammoth 6ft 7ins frame and had to travel to Germany in the build up to his clash with McDermott. And Haye believes some sparring sessions could be mutually beneficial.
"I'm around at the moment and if he's got a fight coming up I am more than willing to spar with him," said Haye. "He doesn't have to pay me, that's for sure. If he wants to come down and do some work with me I'd more than appreciate it and I'm sure he would also."
Haye was at ringside for Fury's win over McDermott and, though he disagreed with the verdict, he was impressed by what he saw.
"Tyson has a big future," he said. "He has a solid chin because he took some really good shots."
Fury blamed sparring for his performance against McDermott, which he rated as "two out of 10."
"My preparation for the fight wasn't too clever," he said. "I haven't been able to get good sparring over in England so for the McDermott fight I actually did some sparring in Ireland and Germany. I probably overdid the sparring and ended up doing too much in Germany."
Fury makes a swift return to the ring this weekend on the undercard of Bernard Dunne's WBA super-bantamweight title defence against Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym.
He will try to distance himself from the controversy surrounding the McDermott fight that soured the first professional title of his career.

tyson needs to work off his reach and keep mcdermott at bay by sidestepping his right hands or slipping with a left hook!!!
Will be a good fight though indeed!!

I think last time out, Tyson ghot drawn into Mcdermotts fight and wanted to prove he could mix it up rough (Pride) He should use his class and not get involved with another brawl.
Tyson to take it out of the refs hands!

My original point was, that Tyson is not irish? he is first and formemost ENGLISH. The first sniff of a mention of ireland and mugs like you can't stop harping on about it. If you are a MANC and was born in ENGLAND you should support Tyson regardless of descent/heritage etc and even if you wan't born in England but are an 'adopted' MANC you should support him - but when was the last time you heard anyone else going on about this being the best night for black boxing, Asian boxing etc..etc...Never is the answer mate, co's no-one else on these pages is that pathetic or has a spud on their shoulder the size of the one clearly on yours.
Thanks for your time....
