The two undefeated welterweights clash in one of the most eagerly-anticipated fights of the year at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on December 8.
The hype has already begun and the pair took turns to disrespect each other as they met for a news conference in Los Angeles to promote their upcoming contest.
Hatton first played a video which poked fun at Mayweather for taking dancing lessons in preparation for his upcoming appearance on the hit TV show 'Dancing with the Stars.'
"He is doing the show 'Dancing with the Stars' and I think that's how he is boxing," Hatton said. "Floyd always backs up. That's the woman part."
Manchester fighter Hatton then joined the conference wearing a golden crown on his head which Mayweather promptly snatched away from him.
"I am glad he took it, because it looks more like Burger King than like a champion," Hatton said.
Hatton, the IBF light welterweight champion, is looking to claim Mayweather's WBC belt.
"I was delighted when I won my British title, then I got more and more and the world title," said Hatton, who is 43 fights unbeaten.
"Now, that is going to be another stage. I have the toes to do this job, and I will do this job and become the new best pound-for-pound champion in the world."
Taunts
Known as a big showman, the 30-year old Mayweather stepped forward to Hatton during the conference, faced him and talked straight into his face. Hatton, 28, just chewed his gum without saying a word.
"Talk to me, talk to me," said Mayweather to his opponent before calling him "Vicky Fatten" and intimating that Hatton should be a wrestler instead of a boxer.
Mayweather, wearing a £1,500 suit, then talked about all his projects, including his own promotion company, his appearance on 'Dancing with the Stars' and his new energy drink.
After showing some off dancing steps with his partner, Mayweather had some advice for Hatton.
"You'll get a big pay cheque, and when I am done with you I'll collect more and more in the future because I am the best in the world," he said. "I am special like my mum always told me. I am worth 200million."
Mayweather is a six-time world champion in five weight divisions, including super featherweight, lightweight, super lightweight, welterweight and super welterweight.
Now unbeaten in 38 fights, he showed his extraordinary skills when he defeated Oscar de la Hoya in May.
The biggest fight of Hatton's career is already setting records, as tickets in Las Vegas were sold out in 35 minutes.
"I am proud of this, but very sorry for all my fans, because they sent only 3,900 tickets to the UK," Hatton said. "And 10,000 people always follow my fights and most of them won't get a ticket."
To appease fans left without tickets, MGM will set up roughly 50,000 seats for big-screen coverage throughout their other hotels in Las Vegas.
Tickets will be roughly £100 and most will go to British fans, as the Hatton camp have stated already that 15,000 fans have booked flights and hotels for the fight weekend.

Ricky will go through this clown...like a dose of andrews liver salts
Fear was all over Ricky Hatton's face,he is defeated before he even gets into the ring.
Besides he is way way too small, look how chubby he is and he is gonna get smaller as he starts training. Its gonna be one sided, worse than Arturo Gatti,I see Graham pulling Hatton out before Hatton has his back on the canvas

Ricky please don't get involved with the beckhams. You are a top man they will taint you.
Give me a break, aside from Ralf Schumacher fat boy hatton is the most overrated sportsman on the planet. Can't wait to see him get his backside kicked by a true legend.
This guy whilst unquestionably good is one of those motor mouthed gobs***** ( like Naz) who everyone just wants to see get flattened. I laughed when Barrera battered Naz and I will be equally happy when Ricky takes out this guy. Ricky has never fought anybody like Mayweather but Mayweather has never fought anyone of Hatton's style and aggression. Hatton by KO in the 6th with a trademark body shot. You heard it here first
You Rag muppetts make me laugh. Cant stand to get behind any english that arent connected to the swamp.
Ricky has never ran from a fight, Maywether has ran from Ricky long enough and it wasnt until he was offered so much money he couldnt refuse that he finally got the guts.
Hes never faced anyone like Hatton, Ricky will take all hes got and finish it by the 8th. Roll on Dec see ya all in Vegas you hear now.
You can almost smell the bitterness coming off the posts of red4ever and the other rag (obviously) from London.
Their team is a pale shadow of what it once was and they wish they had some quality celebrity supporters like Hatton instead of Gary Rhodes and Mick Hucknall.
I see all the red cockney's are out on here to belittle a true local hero. Whatever happens he is a Mancunian legend.
red arm chair have you ever watched ricky live?
he trims up for his fights.
how can he be over the hill at 28? that must mean mayweather is over the hill and down the lane cause he is 30!!!
dont have a clue muppet.
and i suggest the other snipers are also jealous reds? brodie your avin a larf. stick to shrek in the sawmp.
Ricky doesn't have to resort to this taunting each other he should let his boxing do the talking on the night - thats good enough and whats more people will respect him even more!
reds4ever? your comments obviously stem from Ricky being a BIG CITY fan. HOW BITTER AND TWISTED YOU REALLY ARE! and you have the audacity to accuse the WONDERFUL City fans of what exactly you are yourself, please grow up?
You Berties can bleat as much as you like! The fact is Hatton is going down. He will be flat on his back looking up at the not so blue moon before the 6th. Ah bless!!
Yo ted, long time no speak mate. You keep taking those pills!!
Your spot on Reds4ever, who's he actually fought before - Kostya Tszyu! Mayweather's fought and beaten the lot, Corrales, Castillo, De La Hoya etc. It'll be the easiest purse of Mayweather's career.
cukie1999
seem to remember mayweather struggled against castillo, and then hatton went and smashed up his ribs, mayweather is a true dancin queen when ricky takes his legs away it's all over.
Its a little bit sad that the City United garbage that ruins the football section has spilled onto the boxing site. Would 99% of Citys fans be on a Boxing site if not for the fact that Ricky happens to support City ?? Of course not but the truth of the matter is that Ricky deserves all his fans. He is a great boxer and a great person. I hope he knocks Mayweather spark out. I cant see it and have never had blind faith. I think Hatton has a chance but Mayweather must start as a big favourite. Come on Ricky !!
As a loyal united lad and yes i am from manchester, you fellow united fans should pull your heads in forget city and united the lad is from manchester dont tell me you would ratherv back a yank!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ricky will do the biz! mayweather has never fought someone that can hit as hard as ricky. We are all behine you Ricky lad, red or blue (football has nothing to do with boxing, we should all remember that) this is about Manchester's finest showing the world his class and heart! Can't wait! C'mon Rick!
Mayweather is a slick fighter and can out-box anyone! However, Hatton's style will see him get up close and cause Pretty Boy all kinds of problems.
As for the joker on here who suggested Ricky was scared at the press conference.. what rubbish. The smile never left his face!
I'm going for Hatton on points as he does indeed have the tools (not 'toes' - as this article suggests!) to do the business.
What a surprise, a Ricky Hatton debate has descended into a City/United slanging match.
How about we all focus on getting behind Ricky and save the petty rows for the Footie pages.
'it's showtime ' Just hope it's like a 'Rocky' movie, with Ricky shouting for Adrian at the end with the belt held high. Lol.
Ive heard 33000 english fans going to Vegas, its gonna be mad, Yanks wont know whats hit them and neither will Dancing Quenn when Ricky knocks him out.
Im a big City fan but lets leave the football out of this, its all about our boy giving it to the yanks in their own back garden and they dont like it up em!
I am a massive red and very proud of my city, so of course i want Ricky to win. It's a bit rich blues on here going mental because a few united fans want Ricky to get beat. I remember bitters going awol beacuse Rooney was involved in the last Hatton fight! and alot of city fans i know hate The Roses and Tony Wilson and the reason being they supported United!
Charming manc, not sure what point your teying to make here. City and United fans will always try and wind each other up for whatever reason, its a bit of fun. Personally I couldn't care less if some united fans want Ricky to lose, most will be right behind him as most City fans I know are fans of the roses and respected Tony Wilson.
