The Sheffield-based Fight Academy boss has announced that he is about to enter back into business with the Hyde superstar even though his three-fight deal is now over.
Hobson remains confident that they will continue a good working relationship - and has already tabled a £5m offer to Floyd Mayweather for a super-fight either later this year or next summer in Las Vegas.
Hobson sees as unwarranted criticism of Hatton by Ulsterman McGuigan, now a newspaper columnist and TV pundit.
The 'Clones Cyclone', who lost his WBA title in his sole Vegas appearance, to Steve Cruz in 1986, has said in recent months that Hatton only has two more fights left in him, and also took a jab at the lack of A-list celebrities at ringside at the Thomas and Mack Center for Hatton's dismantling of Jose Luis Castillo last week.
Said Hobson: "I'm totally and completely bemused. Barry McGuigan sounds more and more to me like an embittered ex-fighter who is simply jealous of what Ricky has achieved.
"Firstly he says Ricky Hatton is washed up and now he criticises the fact that there weren't enough so-called 'celebrities' in the audience when he fought Castillo.
England team
"If by that he means almost the entire England team, including Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole and Kieron Dyer, then I suppose he has a point. But since when has the amount of celebrities at ringside had anything to do with boxing?
"McGuigan needs to take a long and careful look at himself because he just sounds jealous. He went over to Las Vegas and lost the first time he defended his featherweight title, whereas Ricky has gone there and won twice.
"It is pathetic and I know Ricky is equally stunned by it all from a person who he had a lot of respect for.
"Barry McGuigan should remember that he pestered me for tickets for his son for weeks before the fight and now he just goes around slagging off Ricky Hatton. It is quite unbelievable."
Hobson is convinced that Hatton will remain with his Fight Academy, saying: "I think we have delivered for Ricky and his brother Matthew, who was second on the bill in Las Vegas.
"Ricky and I have been together for two years, during which time his career has continued to flourish and I hope we will be together until the day he hangs up his gloves."

Dennis Hobson has a point here, appears to me that barmy Mcquitagain should accept that ricky has & can out pack any stadium in the world.
who needs celebs @ ring side! all that matters is what goes on in the ring....
you need to accept your are @ very best a D list celeb now mr barmy Mcquitagain
I loved McGuigan as a fighter but to be honest he is nothing special as a pundit. ITV use him as their figurehead along with another great champion but the dreadfully wooden Duke McKenzie. McGuigan initially worked on Eurosport then on Sky where he was in the shadow of Jim Watt & Glen McCrory. Those two continue to be superb commentators and dont need to seek self publicity by sounding off their opinions other than on the fights they are watching.
BARRY DID YOU REALLY SAY THESE THINGS ?????
IF SO THEN YOU TRULY ARE VERY BITTER. HAVE YOU EVER WON TITLES AT DIFFERNT WEIGHTS AND ACHEIVED WHAT RICKY HAS DONE?(NO) WELL BARRY I SUGGEST YOU LOOK AT WHAT YOU WON THEN COMPARE WITH RICKY, AS FOR WASHED UP I DONT THINK SO, AS FOR THE CELEBRITIES THE PEOPLE WHO WERE THERE WERE MULTIMILLIONAIRES,SO BARRY STOP MOANING, YOU LOST YOUR TITLE AFTER YOU WON IT AND NEVER DID ANY THING AFTER THAT, SO THAT'S WASHED UP SONNY BOY.
To be honest Hatton does only have less than 5 more fights in him because he is going to be taking on the Worlds best and that will take a hell of a lot out of him. If he beats Mayweather I think he should call it a day and go out on top - I would hate for him to lose the unbeaten record.
Hobson makes out that he has improved Ricky. The fight before Castillo was very poor as Ricky admitted he had got lax. Hobson is like any other promoter, after the money!
why should hatton quit inside 2-3-4 or even 5 fights?? Hasnt he proved to people over his last 10 years that he has the passion talent and engine to fight till he wants, not when barry from wigan says. This will make ricky laugh that the tash master has began to question him when like hobson says, GOT BEAT IN HIS 1ST TITLE DEFENCE. even though it was the heat that beat him not the guy. should hatton happen to lose, which touch wood he wont,a fighter can get beat ,come back and still be a legend.. He's a true blue warrior with no fear but losing. And with him being just 28 gives him time to put the names of benn, eubank, bruno, naz colins look like amateurs. shane mosley is 35 and still banging, de la hoya also barrera, this list is endless. Hattons the real deal and his only problem is being english, had he been born with a silver spoon in his mouth and raised in say? florida he would have had the media,tv and fans alike on his side. ricky should have dropped the interviewer at the end of the castillo fight and then told mani steward th f*** off to. During the bout he happened to say that ricky is nowhere near the force to the body of jose's calibre. yeah mani and the yanks, you know your stuff alright, just as barry from wigan does.. least thaksin sent him a good luck message beforehand. this guy with human rights issues has put the brittish media to shame already,,
