Hello, my fellow Mancunians! Wait a second - I'm no longer a Manc! Sad, right!?
As I write this blog I am sitting in Newark Airport outside New York City awaiting my connecting flight home to see my friends and family for the first time since October.
It was bittersweet, to say the least, leaving Manchester. A place I've fallen in love with for many reasons.
A lot has happened since I last blogged so we have plenty to catch up on!
Well after the season I ended up doing a little bit of traveling prior to my journey home. I spent a few days in Dublin, took in the Royal Wedding and the sights of London and also spent 10 days in Spain in Barcelona and Valencia.
Everything from enjoying proper pints of Guinness, to seeing the future Queen of England (...and her attractive sister), to enjoying tapas and the beaches of Barcelona was absolutely amazing. Happy days!
I returned to Manchester in time to witness Manchester's most beloved football club win the FA Cup with victory over Stoke. Seeing as I'm the biggest MCFC fan besides Liam Gallagher, I was ecstatic.
However, I was more excited for all the old school, proper Blues who have been through all the struggles over the last 35 years. The fans who have had to take all the trash talk from every Red in this darn city.
The FA Cup was a huge win for the fans, the club and the city of Manchester. You may have won 19 United fans, but City is coming for Premier League number one next year.
Now, what's in store for me and my basketball future? Unfortunately, I will not be returning to Manchester next year. I know, I know, sad, right? But hopefully I will be somewhere else in Europe playing... and hopefully playing better than I did this past year!
In closing, I would like to thank EVERYONE I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know in England. I'm not going to name names because I know I'll forget someone - but all those people know who they are.
I've made some great friendships here that will continue on although I'm back on the other side of the pond. Thank you everyone, you've made these last eight months very special!
Also, thanks to Anthony Jepson from the MEN for letting me share my meaningless thoughts on here and to whatever readers I may have out there besides my Mom!
It's been real, Manchester! You stay classy! Cheers and come on, City!
