MANCHESTER Mystics face a rebuilding job before the new EBL women's season.

Coach Sergio Lara-Bercial has lost four of his starting line-up from the team that finished fourth last term.

Great Britain point-guard Georgia Jones, the jewell in the Mystics crown, has left to take up a scholarship at Oral Roberts college in America, where she will continue her basketball education.

Her back-court partner Rehana Khalil, the team's top defensive player and free-scoring shooting guard, moves to Tenerife.

GB ace Joanna Claydon, also one of Mystics' main scoring threats, will continue her career in Spain and American forward Megan Osmer has ended her two-year spell with the club.

Jones' move to the States means she missed GB's 59-54 Eurobasket Division A defeat to Ukraine on Wednesday.

But she will return for all the remaining qualification games along side Clayden.

Despite making her GB debut at the age of only 16, Jones proved to be a key part of the side which won promotion with an 8-2 record.

She was one of only four players to appear in all ten European Championship games, averaging 2.4 assists, 2.3 rebound and 2.2 points in 19 minutes per game.

Jones is expected to return on Saturday, and will be available for next Wednesday’s home game against Lithuania at the Welsh Institute of Sport in Cardiff.
