MANCHESTER Magic coach Jeff Jones has hailed his squad ahead of their play-off semi-final first leg clash with the Reading Rockets tonight.

Magic will be looking to extend a two-year home winning streak against their big rivals at the Amaechi Centre (7.30pm) and take a lead into the second leg next weekend.

Jones is delighted with what his side has achieved this season following their National Cup win and a best-ever finish of third in the EBL1.

And he said: "I can't fault the effort and determination of the guys this season. They have been a pleasure to work with and have excelled.

"It has been a lot of fun and it would top it all off if we could win another trophy. And it would be great to be the only team to win two."

Silverware success is sure to play a positive role in Jones' negotiations to keep his squad together for next season.

"The players know we want to keep as many of them as possible," he added. "We will start talking to them in the summer."

Jones has a full squad for the visit of the National Trophy-winning Rockets, with Matt Hogarth shaking off a neck injury.

Reading coach Dave Titmussis is aware that his team will face a tough test, saying: "Manchester do some things very well but we can do some things to disrupt their play.

"They have weapons if we let them play to their game plan. It's always an exciting game when we visit the Amaechi Centre."
