MANCHESTER Magic gave coach Jeff Jones the response he demanded when they crushed Coventry at the Amaechi Centre last night.

Jones blasted his team's performance in a shock 96-89 EBL Division One defeat at Tees Valey on Saturday as "abysmal". But Magic clicked back into gear to take apart an under-powered Crusaders side 97-67, with guard John Cagianello racking up a top score of 18 consisting solely of three-pointers.

The win leaves them in third, behind second-placed Reading and champions Worthing, who Magic visit on Saturday in the final game before the play-offs.

"We were the worst we have been at Tees Valley - just complacent," said Jones. "But we were much better last night."
