  1. 1. C-Charge: The case AGAINST

Manchester Evening News, Wednesday 24 January 2007 IN three years time I will have to fork out up to é6 a day to go to work. My crime? Not doing enough to save the planet. Call me a selfish gas guzzler (I drive a Renault Clio) but I care more about being financially clobbered yet again, than future generations whose fate can only be surmised by Domesday-mongers.
  2. 2. Tram journey: Altrincham to Stretford

Manchester Evening News, Saturday 29 November 2008 TRAM etiquette is not what it should be. But I’m as guilty as the next passenger. As soon as I board at Altrincham I put my head down and ignore anything but my newspaper. My stop is at the start of the work-bound journey so I’m in the privileged position of always getting a seat.I pity the poor souls who need to board at Stretford further down the line – but not enough to stand up for them. They haven’t a hope of sitting down in the morning rush hour - even if they’re one-legged, one-eyed and one hundred.
  3. 3. A journey on the trams

Manchester Evening News, Saturday 29 November 2008 THE M.E.N's Deanna Delamotta finds there's more to the Metrolink than the daily commuter grind. Travel along the Altrincham to Bury and follow the journey using our interactive map.
