The presenter, who gives sound advice learned from years of hands-on experience to amateur developers on Channel 4's Property Ladder, will start her own column for Homes in August.
She said: "I am really excited about joining the excellent property team at the MEN and helping out readers with their property problems and questions.
"A house is our most expensive possession and it is easy to get developing wrong. Hopefully, I will help people get it right."
The fourth series of the hugely popular Property Ladder returns to the screen in September and includes stories of amateur developers in the north west.
But right now Sarah is at home with husband Graham Swift after giving birth to their first child, Billy, last month.
She said: "We finished filming the series just 10 days before he was born and he is absolutely wonderful. We are both totally smitten."
Self-trained in the building industry, Sarah set up her own property development company with Graham and her brother when she was just 24 before being asked to present Property Ladder where her no-nonsense, practical style and willingness to get her hands dirty helped win her an army of fans. She has also presented Britain's Best Homes and a new series, House to Home, both for Channel 4.
A fifth series of Property Ladder is already being planned.
As well as helping out readers, Sarah is also going to be seeing some of the very best new housing developments that have been built in the north west.
She will be hosting the grand gala awards night for the MEN Residential Property Awards at the Lowry Hotel in September. The awards have been launched to reward developers who are creating new and inspiring places to live with an emphasis on good design, build quality and location.
There has been a huge response already but there is still time for developers both large and small to enter schemes they think should scoop the prestigious accolades.
