Synchroinsed swimming: Canada's perfect 10

CANADA made it 10 out of 10 in the pool by securing an almost inevitable gold in the synchronised swimming duets.

The Canadians, who had won every Commonwealth gold in the event since its inception at Edinburgh in 1986, kept up their perfect record thanks to a superb performance from Claire Carver-Dias and partner Fanny Letourneau.

But there was also success for England, with Gayle Adamson maintaining her personal record of two silvers out of two in Manchester.

Performing with partner Katie Hooper, the pair held onto their overnight position to finish with a total score of 88.167.

But they were a long way behind the winners, who posted a mark of 94.417. Australians Naomi Young and Ashleigh Rudder took bronze.
