The plan was hatched because the Cheetham Hill-based gang thought 30-year-old Wayne Riley had stolen £35,000 of drugs money from them.
They even made him take off his expensive trainers and stand on a mirror so blood didn't ruin the carpet in the house where they held him hostage before taking him to a piece of wasteland where they shot off three of his toes.
Minshull Street Crown Court heard the gang had picked him up in a car in September 2002.
He has since left the area.
Bambay Camara, 28, of Regent Street, Newton Heath, was sentenced to six years in jail after the court heard he had earlier admitted kidnapping.
The court was told he had used an aerosol can as a flame-thrower on Mr Riley's feet before hitting and kicking him. The victim also said he had used pliers to crush his fingers. Later, Camara left the house and other members of the gang took over the torture regime at the house in Kenneth Square.
Prosecuter Michael Leeming said another man, 22-year-old Cade Marshall of Halliwell Street in Cheetham Hill threatened him with a MAC 10 with a silencer as he sat bound with elastic bands and gagged with a sock in his mouth.
But after a period of hours, he was taken by Marshall and a man called Mark Simmonds to wasteland nearby where he was forced on to the ground.
Mr Leeming said: "He was put to the floor and could hear the shot gun being loaded. He heard a conversation between the two men about the safety catch before the toes on his foot were blown off.
"He managed to hobble to a nearby address but no-one came to his aid until a female motorist found him bleeding heavily."
The case was the last in a series of hearings involving four of the gang members. Last month, Marshall, 22, of Halliwell Street, Cheetham Hill was sentenced to 14 years in jail after he was convicted of kidnapping, grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
In March last year, Simmonds, 23, of Alderglen Road Cheetham, was jailed for 11 years after admitting false imprisonment and causing grievous bodily harm with intent. David Spencer, 24, of Leicester Road, Cheetham Hill was given six years for kidnapping.
Sentencing Camara, Judge Jonathan Geake said what happened had been a "gangland" kidnapping.
He said: "The victim was subjected to the most harrowing kidnap and torture."
Mitigating for Camara, Stephen Mea-dowcroft said he had set up a new life in another part of the city with his girl-friend, had got a job and tried to leave his former life as a crack cocaine dealer in Cheetham Hill behind. Police are still hunting another man who is alleged to have been with the four men when Mr Riley was kidnapped.

Only 6 years? As it's only luck his victim didn't die why not life? No-one wants to live with this animal in their community and why should they.
