Drunk driving should have the same penalty as having a firearm because cars are just as dangerous as guns in the wrong hands "Drunk Drivers".

Until someone you know is killed by a drunk driver, you will never truly appreciate the damage that can be done to everyone left behind. Drunk drivers ruin lives in the same way as murderers. If you drink & drive, expect to go to jail for a very long time. I say if you get caught drink driving twice, you face a mandatory 3 year prison sentence, and loss of licence privilages for 10 years. NO EXCEPTIONS! If you cause a death or life changing injury, you should get Life, with no chance of parole.

It has been an offence for over 30 years, cemented into the psyche of our society as a serious offence by T.V ads and other public education systems, yet we still have thousands of these morons drinking and driving. Obviously the penalties are not a strong enough deterrent. Caught first time - an automatic 5 year ban, caught a second time - banned for life. No excuses.

Im sorry but Drink driving is pathetic and i agree with the statements on here regarding scum that drink/drive then kill someone But the blame has to fall on the prat that stated long ago that so much alcohol is allowed in your system and u can drive
