Manchester matador's crash landing

PRIDE was the only real casualty for Manchester matador Frank Evans when a bull tossed him into the air in front of a crowd of thousands. The 52-year-old grandfather from Monton had a close shave after getting too close to a charging bull during a fight at Benalmadena, the Costa Del Sol's largest ring near Malaga.Frank, known as El Ingles to the Spanish, a veteran of more than 100 fights, was facing the first bull of the afternoon when the furious animal got the better of him."I just made a mistake to tell the truth," he said. "It's like a golf shot - if you don't stand right you can be all over the place." The bull caught his right leg flinging him into the air. He was left dazed on the ring's sand floor, bruised but not gored.Frank, who also runs a kitchen-fitting business and several Greater Manchester nursing homes, later recovered and went on to complete two kills.
