DAD Philip Powell has gone Christmas crackers, spending thousands of pounds to turn his home into an amazing, shining shrine to Santa.
Illuminated snowmen, stars, angels, robins, sleighs and reindeer cover his semi in Northwich, Cheshire.
Two years ago, the Manchester Evening News revealed how he set his street aglow by hanging hundreds of fairy lights on the walls of his home in Wright Avenue.
But now he's gone a step further, creating a Blackpool illuminations-style show for schoolchildren and neighbours.
His latest home-made creation - a huge Father Christmas riding in a flying saucer - sits proudly outside his front door. And he's even built a nativity scene, complete with a light-filled stable, on his lawn. Youngsters post letters at the house, believing the real Santa lives inside.
Neighbours also enter into the Christmas spirit by putting cash into a tinsel-covered charity collection box. The former joiner has spent hours - and thousands of pounds - building up the lights show over the last 10 years.
And he's already planning next year's project - a shining Christmas archway. Philip, 46, who is married with two children, said: ''Everyone seems to love it - my wife Christine, the local children and the community at large. I do it because I'm a big kid at heart - and I love seeing people smile when they see the house.''
Daughter Debi, 25, added: ''He's completely Christmas crackers, but it wouldn't be the same without dad's lights.''
